When I look back at Skyler and Monica’s Scotland Run Golf Club wedding the first word that comes to my mind is FUN!
Their whole wedding day from the start to finish was SO MUCH fun and had good vibes all around! Their energy was electric and you could feel how uniquely *them* the whole day was!
From their sweet backstory to the fun reception party, there were so many moments that made this wedding truly special. Keep reading to discover the highlights of their big day!
Monica and Skyler’s love story began as they met through mutual friends way back in 8th grade!
I loved how they incorporated that into their wedding day by setting up a photo table, showcasing their journey together since the school days! It was heartwarming to see how their love has grown over the years!
Monica got ready at a hotel nearby and finished getting ready at the Scotland Run Golf Club’s on site Bridal Suite with her bridesmaids, her mom and the groom’s mom. They all had a lot of fun getting ready, drinking champagne, toasting to the bride and taking selfies!
The Bridal Suite was so cute! It included a make up bar with lights and mirrors, so multiple people could get ready all at once. It was really convenient and looked great too!
Monica’s mom helped her get dressed, and it was so sweet! Also, I want to give a shout out to her mom, because she was the best! She kept everyone’s vibes high, made people smile (myself included!) and overall was so fun and full of life!
I could definitely see where Monica got her character from!
Skyler and Monica chose to do a first look before the ceremony at the gorgeous back patio of the venue. They had written sweet love letters to each other that they read before the first look, and I loved getting to capture those pure emotions!
They also had their wedding rings with them for the first look, so I could get a close up of the couple exchanging them! And, honestly, that’s something I want to recommend for everyone getting married – take your rings to the first look!!
Monica and Skyler opted for night photos for their Scotland Run wedding, and I’m so happy they did!
We didn’t have a ton of time to slip away during the day, however, the nighttime ambiance created such a romantic and magical atmosphere that truly captured the essence of their love.
Skyler and Monica celebrated their wedding just before the New Years Eve, on December 30th.
The Scotland Run wedding venue was so cute and decorated with Christmas trees, pine garlands and white twinkly lights! And the reception party had great New Year’s eve party vibes with all the fun party accessories!
I loved how the couple incorporated the photo dash challenge at the reception! It added a unique and interactive element to the festivities and allowed everyone to be a part of the memories being made!
Overall, the reception was an absolute blast, filled with fun, laughter, and amazing dance moves. The photos from this part of the day are some of my all-time faves! Especially the shots of the grandfather tearing up the dance floor!
The Scotland Run wedding venue is located in South Jersey, about 20 minutes away from Philadelphia and about an hour away from Atlantic city.
So if you haven’t found a venue you love in Philadelphia, you may want to consider Scotland Run golf club! They can hold up to 240 guests for ceremony and reception, so it’s really great for bigger weddings!
The venue is really beautiful and elegant! It has very well-kept grounds and a pretty landscape. Outside you’ll also find a beautiful stone pathway to get to the ceremony, as well as a pergola that’s covered in vines and twinkly lights. All of that makes for perfect wedding photo backdrops no matter the season!
They have a gorgeous ceremony pavilion! If you are planning your wedding during the colder months, don’t worry, the ceremony space is covered and heated to ensure that your guests are warm and comfortable!
The staff are also nice and very helpful, so I definitely recommend checking out this venue, if you are still searching!
Monica and Skyler’s wedding was a beautiful collaboration that allowed me to capture their love story. They put their full trust in me and it really came through in the photos!
I am grateful to have been a part of their day!
