A warm summer evening, the sun gently sinking into the horizon and a couple madly in love with each other, that is exactly how I’ll remember Jenna and Chase’s Sandy Hook Beach engagement shoot.

As a lover of beach shoots, this location was an absolute A+ in my books! Sandy Hook Beach with its easy parking, non-overwhelming dunes, and a stunning view of the NYC skyline is a great location to consider for a beach photo session! 

However, no matter how great the location was, Jenna and Chase totally stole the show with all of their romantic and playful moments! Just come and take a look!

Their Love Story

Jenna and Chase first met each other on Bumble! That meeting led them to their first date at an Irish pub and the rest is history!

They are both tattoo enthusiasts and have matching bee tattoos. Funny enough, I also have a bee tattoo, so it was cool that we were all matching, haha! 

The couple also loves traveling and are massive Marvel fans, so we incorporated some Marvel-themed shots during the session, to make sure that their gallery really screams “AH THAT’S SO US!” For more ways to create engagement photos that scream you, check out my blog!

Tips for a Great Beach Engagement Shoot

If you’re also considering a beach location for your engagement shoot, I have some tried and tested tips to ensure you have fun and the photos turn out amazing!

• First off, opt for off-peak hours, like sunrise or sunset. The lighting is magical and the beach is far less crowded than during the day. Jenna and Chase’s sunset engagement session shows exactly how awesome this light looks! 

• For your outfit, wear bold colors, like black, maroon, olive green, or denim, so you don’t blend with the tan and blue backdrop of the beach. 
• Speaking of outfits – ditch your shoes! Stick to flip-flops and feel free to kick them off once you hit the sand. Trust me, you’ll feel way more comfy and the photos will come out more natural too!

• And more tips on outfits – get yourself an outfit change! That will allow you to get the most out of your session by creating different vibes to the photos, and you’ll also have something dry to change into if you want to have some playful photos in the water!

• Play some tunes! (This is a tip for all engagement sessions!) Music allows you to have fun and create a more relaxed vibe! I love that it also allows me to discover new music during the shoots!
